being a part of the illusion has been such a journey thus far. if there's such a thing as a positive distraction, this has been it.. just the thing i've always yearned to be part of, but for some reason or another, never got myself to it.
this is my first foray, my debut in theatre. as a cast member pointed out, many of us think that people doing theatre are different (elitist even, may i add), but how wrong could that perception be. it was probably never easier for me to get comfortable with a new group as i did from the first day of rehearsal. everyone's so normal. maybe the difference lies in the way we are willing to express ourselves - our views and our feelings. and yes, the attitude that kelvin wants us to cultivate - always taking from, giving to and making each person look good on stage.
rehearsals are going well. i do look forward to attending each and every one. we got off to a good start - it's a matter of weeks but it seems we've been friends for years. and the more we rehearse, the better it gets - in getting closer to each other and of course, in making our characters richer. all this leading to the grand opening that we can't wait for.
back to my day job then...
